As an international airline pilot I have been extremely blessed to visit some of the most beautiful corners of the world. “Sea Bright” and its scenery ranks right at the top of all of them!

The house is a thoughtfully created work of art that truly captures the history and culture of Kachemak Bay. Native artifacts, seashells and paintings from local artists tastefully decorate every room. And we loved how the kitchen was so well equipped with modern high end appliances, but maintained a feeling of true Alaskan coziness and warmth.

Most of our time was spent just sitting on the deck taking in the view and wildlife. We frequently spotting eagles, magpies, seals and otters all within a stones throw of the multiple outdoor seating areas. One of our most memorable days was spent on an adventurous hike to Grewingk glacier, which began with a 30 minute boat ride past seals, birds and even whales! Before returning to Sea Bright we diverted to a cruise thru nearby Halibut Cove where we stopped for a fabulous dinner at “The Saltry” restaurant.

Our 5 day stay was way too short as we dreaded having to leave, but will certainly look forward to our next stay at this awesome, true Alaskan location!
